Dr Bhismadev Chakrabarti

Reading University

I study empathy, emotion processing, and autism, using neuroimaging and genetics. I read Chemistry at St.Stephen's College, Delhi, India and Natural Sciences at Trinity College, Cambridge. I did my doctoral and postdoctoral research at the Autism Research Centre, and was elected the Charles and Katharine Darwin Research Fellow at Darwin College, Cambridge. In 2009, I moved to the Centre for Integrative Neuroscience and Neurodynamics at the University of Reading to set up my own research group. I continue to actively collaborate with the Autism Research Centre.

My current research focuses on
a) Testing the links between reward and autism.
b) Investigating the role of specific genes that underlie autistic traits.
