Asperger Syndrome (AS) Sib Pair Project
If you and your children agree to take part in this project,
- You will be asked to complete a personality questionnaire, ethnicity form, background information form and consent form for each of your children, whether they have a diagnosis or not.
- Your children will be asked to donate a sample of DNA. The method is completely painless and very quick, and simply involves wiping cheek cells from inside the mouth with a cotton bud. Full instructions will be included with the kit.
The DNA will be stored anonymously at the University of Cambridge. Results of this study will only provide information about those with Asperger syndrome as a group. No individual information about DNA or genes will be available from these results. The DNA will only be used for the sole purpose of this study.
If you would like to take part in this project, the first step is to complete the AS Sib Pair Participation Form. To fill out this form, please enter your name and email address below and click Submit. We will email you the questionnaire as a Word document. Once you have completed the questionnaire, just save it and email it back to us.
