Dr Chris Ashwin

Dr Chris Ashwin completed a B.A. (Honours) in Psychology at the University of Windsor in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. He completed a PhD at the University of Cambridge in the ARC where his thesis was entitled 'The Amygdala Theory of Autism'. His research involved 3 broad areas of investigation: fMRI studies of social-emotional processing in participants with and without autism; computer-based behavioural tasks of social-emotional information processing in participants with and without autism; and GSR measures during social-emotional perception in participants with and without autism. He is currently a Lecturer in Psychology and a member of the Cognition, Affective Science and Technology Labs research group at Bath, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
