Dr Kevin A. Matlock

Research Associate
Dr Kevin A. Matlock is a Research Associate at the Autism Research Centre housed in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Cambridge. He also holds a research appointment at the University of Oxford in the Department of Psychiatry, alongside a Junior Research Fellowship in Social Sciences at Worcester College. Prior to these roles, Dr Matlock taught psychology for nearly a decade at universities in North America, Asia, and Europe, receiving two nominations for teaching excellence.
Dr Matlock’s primary research interests are data science and understanding and improving health and well-being, in particular using multi-domain frameworks where quality of life is conceptualised across the physical, psychological, social, and environmental domains. He has pursued these interests using a mixed-method approach, including descriptive case studies for adults and adolescents with developmental disabilities at the community level, as well as qualitative thematic analysis and large-scale quantitative analysis of longitudinal survey data for university students and clinical trial data for patients with diabetes.
