Selin Dolay
Doctoral Scientist
Selin is a PhD student supervised by Professor Simon Baron-Cohen, Dr. Carrie Allison and Dr. Alexandros Tsompanidis.
Her research focuses on applying semi-supervised machine learning to study mental health in autism. Autistic individuals are known to experience significantly higher rates of mental health difficulties, including an elevated risk of suicide, compared to the general population.
Specifically, Selin investigates multimodal data (encompassing structural, functional, behavioural, and genetic measures) to identify subgroups that may provide deeper insights into mental health trajectories within autistic populations. Her work aims to better understand the heterogeneity of autism in order to improve the mental well-being of autistic individuals.
Selin’s PhD is funded by the Mehta Kalyan Foundation.
She holds a BSc in Psychology with a neuroscience specialization from the University of Amsterdam, and a First-Class Honours degree in Neuroscience from King’s College London.
